Beyond GLP-1: A Body-to-Mind Approach to Sustainable Weight Loss
The rise of GLP-1 medications such as Wegovy, Ozempic and Mounjaro has transformed the conversation around weight loss.
For many people, these medications reduce appetite and help initiate significant weight loss.
But a crucial question remains largely unanswered:
What happens after GLP-1?
When the medication stops, appetite often returns and weight regain can occur if the body, habits and metabolism have not been supported during the process.
This has created a new need:
sustainable weight management strategies that work with or without medication.
At Martine de Richeville, we have developed an integrated programme designed precisely for this moment.
Not as a quick fix.
But as a structured, multi-pillar approach to sustainable weight loss.
Why Sustainable Weight Loss Requires More Than Dieting
Weight loss is rarely only about calories.
Research consistently shows that long-term weight management depends on several interconnected factors:
-
metabolic health
-
muscle preservation
-
behavioural habits
-
emotional relationship to food
-
body awareness and physical engagement
When these elements are addressed together, weight management becomes far more sustainable.
This understanding is what led us to design a collaborative programme combining bodywork, nutrition and behavioural support.
Remodelage Bodywork: Supporting the Body During Weight Loss
At the centre of the programme is the Remodelage Martine de Richeville® bodywork method.
Unlike traditional massage, Remodelage is an intensive manual technique designed to stimulate circulation and activate tissue mobility throughout the body.
During weight loss, this can help support:
-
circulation and lymphatic flow
-
tissue vitality
-
skin tone and firmness perception
-
digestive comfort
-
body awareness
When weight changes quickly, the body can feel unfamiliar. Skin may feel looser, and many people disconnect from their physical sensations.
Remodelage helps restore that connection.
Clients often report that the treatment helps them feel their body again, which plays an important role in maintaining motivation and self-care throughout the weight-loss journey.
Nutrition Strategy: Protecting Metabolism and Muscle
The nutritional pillar of the programme is led by Stéphanie Achar, Nutritional Therapist and Functional Medicine Practitioner.
Her work focuses on supporting the body’s metabolism during weight loss and protecting long-term health.
Key areas include:
-
maintaining adequate protein intake to preserve muscle mass
-
blood sugar stability principles
-
hormonal considerations, particularly for midlife women
-
sleep and stress physiology
-
identifying metabolic imbalances when relevant
Rather than restrictive dieting, the goal is to develop metabolic literacy so that individuals understand how to maintain their weight independently.
Hypnotherapy: Addressing Behaviour and Emotional Patterns
The behavioural component of the programme is guided by Natasha Henderson, Clinical Hypnotherapist.
Many people know what they “should” do nutritionally, yet struggle to maintain those habits under stress or emotional pressure.
Hypnotherapy can help address patterns such as:
-
emotional eating
-
compulsive cravings or “food noise”
-
self-sabotage cycles
-
loss of motivation
By working with the subconscious mind, hypnotherapy supports behavioural alignment and greater consistency over time.
A Collaborative Approach to Sustainable Weight Loss
Each discipline addresses a different aspect of weight management.
Nutrition supports the internal physiology.
Bodywork reconnects the individual to their physical body.
Hypnotherapy addresses behavioural and emotional drivers.
When combined, these elements create a more stable foundation for long-term change.
This collaborative model reflects what many experts increasingly recognise: sustainable weight management requires a multi-component approach.
The 3-Month Integrated Programme
To support this process, we have created a structured three-month programme.
Total investment: £3,600
(£1,200 per month over three months)
The programme includes:
-
12 Remodelage sessions
-
6 Nutrition consultations with Stéphanie Achar
-
6 Hypnotherapy sessions with Natasha Henderson
The journey begins with a personalised assessment and the programme is coordinated between practitioners to ensure a coherent approach.
If any additional sessions are necessary in the program they will remain at the same price for up to an extra 6 body remodelage (155£/session), 3 additional nutrition sessions (£160) and up to 3 more hypnoterapy sessions (£130).
